DHOKA by Chef Vikas Khanna
The only Michelin Star awarded Indian food serving restaurant and helmed by Chef Vikas Khanna. The above factors made Junoon a must visit for me. Unfortunately it turned out to be a big disappointment. In fact it was such a big let down that i am literally forcing myself to write this review. And its not like we ordered limited dishes and maybe the restaurant had an off day. In fact we ordered a wide variety of starters, mains, breads & desserts but none of the dishes stood out.
In starters we ordered Melon Chaat, Oyster Pakora, Bagarey Baigan, Lahsooni Gobi & Murg Tikka Mirza Hasnu. In mains we had Gobi aur Saag ke Bhurji, Jaipuri Bhindi, Dal Makhni & Murg Lababdar.
Breads consisted of a variety of Naan’s, Roti’s and Junoon Spice Naan. Even ordered a Pulao.
The 3 desserts we ordered were Coconut Rice Pudding, Seasonal Trio of Kulfi and Chocolate Masala Cake.
I am at a loss of words to describe how ordinary the food was. I am tempted to write a detailed review describing the average food. But i feel that maybe i was not happy with the food because i have eaten better Indian Food, but for people having their first taste of Indian Food, may be it suits their palate.
In my opinion Indian Accent and Gagan are by far the most impressive fine dining Indian Food serving restaurants and Junoon would not even make it to my top 10 list.
