Every city needs a fine dine old school Italian restaurant. This is Delhi’s. It’s a thrill to cross the designer threshold knowing that a special night – even without the occasion – will unfold. There is something so likeable about its cosy yet formal ambience, stylish candlelit interiors and top notch service.
The menu – designed, if not cooked personally, by Chef Ritu Dalmiya herself – packs plenty of punch.
The amuse bouche which in this case was button mushroom stuffed with ricotta mousse arrived at our table as soon as we had placed our order.
The first starter we had was Roasted Pumpkin & Truffle scented Arancini and it was delectable.
Classic rocket & Cherry Tomato with Parmesan salad was well prepared.
Roasted Pepper Soup was cooked to perfection.
Our server was kind enough to serve us a half & half pizza i.e. Half Verde (Pesto sauce, Mozzarella, Pine nuts, Onion rings & rocket leaves) & half Bufala (Cherry Tomatoes, Olives, Oregano, Mozzarella & Pesto). It was definitely one of the best Vegetarian Pizza’s I have had in Delhi.
Sweet Potato filled Tortelli tossed in Duck confit sauce was next and it was delicate and flavourful.
Panini with sliced sausages, caramelized onions & mustard was the best sandwich i have had in a long time.
In desserts we had the Mango Cheesecake, Panacotta with wild berries, meringue chest with strawberry & ricotta.
A special mention to their manager Mr. Dinesh Kumar who visited our table at regular intervals to make sure everything was perfect.
For those who love supple handmade pasta, beautifully prepared antipasti using the best ingredients of the season and delicious wood-fired pizza’s then this is the place to visit.
