Visited this newly opened Pan Asian restaurant after reading a lot of glowing reviews. The fact that the owner has opened 4 outlets within the span of two years speaks volumes about the success of the Big Wong brand. Our server informed us that the reason for the term ‘XL’ used at this joint is because unlike other Big Wong outlets, they intend to serve liquor here. Unfortunately they had not received their liquor licence yet.
The first thing you notice after entering is that the interiors are unlike any other pan-asian restaurant. Quirky interiors with posters and funny one liners of rock legends adorn the wall, speakers were belting out tracks from U2 & Creed. Traditional Oriental Dining just got a major facelift.
We started with Vegetable Crystal Dumplings & Chicken Thai Herbs Dimsum. Both were wonderfully prepared and delicious.
In Sushi we tried the Asparagus Tempura Roll & the Seafood Family Platter. Both dishes were well rolled & nicely presented.
The service is a bit slow & confused but I am sure that with time it will improve and most importantly the food is well worth the wait.
The USP of this restaurant is that they are serving high quality Pan-Asian food at very reasonable rates, in fact the rates here a substantially less than other good restaurants serving similar food.
Would definitely be heading here again to try many more dishes which they have on offer.
