The News that this place had been awarded the best Japanese Restaurant by Times Food Guide along with my search for good sushi in Delhi brought me here and I was not disappointed.
This place is huge. The ground floor has well spaced out tables, dim lighting along with beautiful paintings and the cosy dining area in the basement has its own private dining area.
This beautiful restaurant in JW Mariott has risen to prominence due to Chef Akira Back’s imaginative application of modern cooking techniques to classic Japanese cuisine.
Started with Lobster Tempura and Shikoku Octopus. The tempura rates amongst the best tempura’s served in Delhi, and the octopus was a delight to the taste buds.
Their Signature Rolls i.e. Red Dragon (shrimp tempura,crab,spicy tuna) and Veg Corn Croquette rolls were recommended by our server and they were pretty good.
In mains we had the Duck Breast which was served with a variety of excellent spicy sauces. The Vegetarian Yaki Soba was also very well prepared.
For Dessert we ordered the Chocolate Lava Cake which was a bit of a disappointment as maybe after going through the previous excellent courses, we had started expecting something fabulous and somehow the chocolate lava cake did not meet our expectations.
A special mention to the extremely well trained and polite staff who helped make my dinner experience memorable.
